Canon: Final Fantasy VII: Compilation
Timeframe: Time flexible, intended as original canon. Can cover original game, Dirge of Cerberus* and Crisis Core.
Position: ShinRa Co. board member, senior scientist (funny how all other contenders just... disappeared) on the SOLDIER program, head (surviving) researcher on the JENOVA projects, and all legacy operations of Crescent, Gast, Valentine and Hollander.
Often times, one gets the impression he isn't listening. He probably isn't, he probably can't be bothered by whatever inane thing you're wasting oxygen on when he could be chasing the superior machinations of his own mind.
What will Sephiroth think when he finds out that I'm his father? Always looking down on me like that! HA HA HAAA!
Hojo raised his son the only way he knew how, kept at a clinical distance and overblown expectations. It seems that he allows The General the lies he's been offered concerning his true parentage. How funny, that the young man could hate his own father! The very reason for his existence, for his power, for his looming ascendency to godhood!
You see, even if Jenova's body is dismembered, it will eventually become one again. That's what is meant by Jenova's Reunion.
On the eve of calamity, Hojo's body is almost terminally riddled with JENOVA cells and he hears the siren call to surrender to the Reunion impulse. To give Sephiroth the energy he needs to bring JENOVA's ruinous manifestation. But the trifles of an aging body are of no concern, and the old man has plenty of tricks left up that bloody lab-coat sleeve.
"I've injected Jenova's cells into my own body! Heee, hee, hee! Here are-- heee, hee, hee--my results!!
